Part 1 – Stamina, Prices, Venues

Stamina

Circuit partying is not for the faint-hearted – it is intense and requires stamina. I’m only just about back to normal after a week spent horizontal in a dark room (as in my room with the curtains shut rather than “that” room in a club). I may have spent a few weeks at the gym before the parties started, aiming for the elusive “Waterpark body,” but next year I’ll be doing more cardio! And make sure you eat before you set off. It’ll be near impossible to do so once you get to the party.

Show me the money

You’ll need a healthy bank balance if you want to do Circuit properly. Disneyland and Christmas don’t come cheap, kids, as your Momma knows too well. Club tickets start from around 25 to 35 euro, up to 70 euro for the Waterpark “Day & Night Pack.” You can save a bit if you book in advance, but these are still pricey tickets, a fair wack more than a standard Barcelona gay club. But standard Barcelona clubbing these events are not, and quality comes at a price. Just take the Waterpark – where else do you get an awesome stage-built sound-system, pool as dance floor, live show from a Euro-Pop Princess (Eurovision winner Loreen, de la “Euphoria’”, multiple DJ’s, and a phenomenal closing fireworks display? So get saving, it’s worth it.

Venues

Aside from the legendary Waterpark parties, Circuit hosted events at some awesome spots this year, from iconic Apolo and sparkly Dboy in Barcelona city-centre, municipal pools on the edge of town, megaclub Razzmatazz and beach-side clubbers paradise – L’Atlantida in Sitges. The Main Party, at a decent-size sports stadium, will stay with me forever.
