Eyewear makers T&B have come up with the catchiest, and most provocative, tagline in ages. Go to their website, check out their Rx and sunglass lenses, and, sure enough, “We Sit on Your Face” pops up in the promo. Puts a whole new spin on the term “rims.”
Lest you be confused, or titillated, no one who works for T&B is offering to sit on your face (from what I know of, anyway); it’s just the company’s way of getting the gay word out on their lenses.
From their press spokesperson: “The company is almost coming out of the closet (so to speak) in revealing their sexuality to the world, rather than hiding it behind closed doors. ‘Sit on Your Face’ holds a distinct meaning within the gay community, because in a hetero setting, there will always be a ‘traditional’ dom/sub type relationship. Within the gay community, ‘Sit on Your Face’ is up in the air.”
I never thought of it that way, but I can’t help wondering if the “protective” lenses are also scratch-resistant.
Tortoise & Blonde glasses can be purchased at www.tortoiseandblonde.com or at one of two showrooms in Philadelphia and Austin. Frames start at $97.
