Responsibilities

-       Writing blog posts on topics of interest to the global community that are happening in your region.

-       Interacting with GuySpy’s community of users, bloggers and commenters.

-       Advising Head Office of regional nuances that could improve performance of our local advertising.

-       Advising Head Office of events, issues and entertainment happening in your region.

-       Representing GuySpy at events in your region.

-       Working with our Social Media Manager to encourage discussions, spark debate, and manage our community on all social media platforms.

-       Helping to develop and implement our social media strategy.

-       General GuySpy marketing and administration support when required for your community.

-        Advocate positive role models in the gay community.

-       Creating & participating in awesome conversations every day.

Requirements

-       Must speak & write English fluently.

-       Must be a member of the gay community.

-       Persuasive & influential person.

-       Credibility on social media.

-       Interest in writing, communications, marketing, events, social media.

-       Willingness to act as an ambassador online as well as at an occasional event.

Remuneration

You’ll get a mixture of a fixed rate for blog posts, hourly rate for representation at events and expertise shared with head office, as well as the opportunity to develop your profile as a writer, with prominent exposure among GuySpy’s almost 1 million members.

 iOS Developer

Job Description

We are currently searching for a creative and dedicated iOS developer to deliver all of our Apple consumer facing products. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop and grow the iOS platform with support from senior developers and architects – we might even go as far as to call them gurus. This person will analyze business requirements, user experience and visual design components to assess technical feasibility against budget and timeline constraints. In short, you will have an opportunity for major career expansion while making an actual impact on our products. Candidates should have a passion for technology and a flexible, creative approach to problem solving. For the right candidate, this position could be contract or full time and can be executed from anywhere on the planet – as long as you like working during PST hours.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing mobile applications is iOS SDK
  • Working hand in hand with designers, implementing new mobile features while maintaining quality and innovation in current/existing mobile projects
  • Working directly with production and web engineers to produce top-notch products
  • Having fun while working on our core technology!

Duties include:

  • Writing code for all Apple iOS platforms
  • Working with partners to direct and review committed code
  • Participating in creative specification and time estimates
  • Participation in UI/UX design for the purpose of simplicity and functionality.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will:

 

  • Be able to provide or reference examples of published iOS applications. Any Apple platform is acceptable as long as skill and ability is clearly demonstrated
  • Have experience developing chat based clients (web or mobile) using XMPP or other chat protocols
  • Have experience working with version control systems such as GitHub.

 

In addition, you also possess the following skills:

  • iOS SDK (mandatory)
  • Python (experience highly recommended, but not mandatory)
  • Objective-C
  • Cocoa/UI Kit
  • OpenFire (XMPP)
  • C++ (experience considered an asset)
  • SOLR  (experience considered an asset)
