If you thought MTV was all about music, think again. There is also hate and violence in the mix.
Testosterona, one of the most visited blogs in Brazil, is hosted and sponsored by MTV. Their goal is simple: humiliating and promoting violence targeted at women, gay men, and transgender people. Testosterona posts include a quick guide on rape (“first step: knock her out with a brick”), and a list of the advantages of dating a transgender woman (“they are not going to the police if you beat them”).
MTV refuses to put a stop to it. Last week, their office in Brazil responded to complaints by saying the content of the blog does not reflect MTV’s opinion. So why do they still promote such a dangerous website?
The president of MTV Networks, Mr. Van Toffler, has the power to change that – and we are going to deliver your signatures directly to him so he knows what his company is up to.
Sign now to demand that MTV drop their partnership with Testosterona immediately:
Testosterona accuses their critics of not being able to take a joke. But their dangerous content has the power to do real harm.
In March, Brazilian police arrested two former contributors to Testosterona, who ran a separate website that also promoted hate against women, gay men, and several other groups. Further investigation found out the authors were planning a mass shooting at a local university.
Brazil launched an investigation about the blog’s promotion of rape and violence. Apparently, that is still not enough for MTV to take action. We can change that!
Will you sign now to get the president of MTV Networks, Mr. Van Toffler, to stop sponsoring Testosterona and its hate speech?
Thank you from GuySpy for going All Out!
