We first fell in love with Brad Goreski when he was Rachel Zoe’s assistant on The Rachel Zoe Project, and our crush for this cute, stylish, and funny Canadian continued growing as we watched him struggle to build his own fashion company in his Bravo show It’s a Brad Brad World.

The king of the color block trend jumped into a new adventure by publishing his memoir, Born to be Brad: My Life and Style, So Far, in which the 33-year-old shares his journey of transformation from a troubled overweight kid with drug problems to the fantastic individual he is now.
In partnership with Brooks Brothers, he has since visited Toronto, Chicago, Georgetown, and New Orleans to promote his book. During his visit to Big D last week, I had the opportunity to sit down and talk to him. I must admit that, since he’s one of my favorite fashion icons, I was really nervous at first. As soon as we started talking, however, I found him to be just as charming as I thought he would be.

We talked about how he manages to have time for his boyfriend, Gary Janetti, while traveling. He said “Despite the distance, I’m always texting him and checking up on our babies [their two dogs, Jasper and Penelope].”
Brad told me he wasn’t scared to show off his relationship. Quite the opposite, “I was ready to prove it doesn’t matter whether you’re straight or gay, as being in love applies to both.”
Then it was time for him to work, as his fans had been lining up since early that afternoon. He signed my book and asked me what I’d recommend to do on a Wednesday night in Dallas. I suggested hitting The Round Up Saloon (a country-themed gay bar), to which he replied, “I’m always ready to get my country on.” It turned out he wasn’t lying: Later that night he posted a pic of him and his date, Courtney Kerr (part of Most Eligible Dallas cast), doing the wobble at the club. Too bad I was already home: I would’ve drop it down with them.
