Allow me to introduce myself…and this blog.

Morris Chapdelaine

Being a Gay man in 2010 is certainly a far cry from what it was even 10 years ago. It’s hard to imagine that in some cities and schools, kids are coming out and being encouraged to do so with the formation of Gay-Straight Alliances (GSA’s).

Even in the last 6 months, a sudden rash of (reported) suicides by Gay teens has prompted civic groups, clubs and organizations and celebrities of all kind to take part in the now ubiquitous, It Gets Better Campaign. It got me wondering how things may have been different for me growing up and coming out when as a lanky boy of 16 I’d had celebs like Michael J Fox and Emilio Estevez telling me that being Gay was OK and that I DESERVED to be respected. Just imagine…

At any rate, we certainly are NOT living in a Gay utopia- far from it actually. In a world where you can literally be killed in 7 countries for being Gay and imprisoned or tortured in 75, and in a world where the ‘land of the free’ has only 5 states and 1 fedreal district where 2 people of the same sex can marry and where out Gay men and women can NOT serve openly in the military- well you get my drift. There is a long battle still to be waged and that’s exactly why many call this the new Civil Rights Movement. It an exciting time indeed and some changes are happening rapidly, but change has to happen on all levels and it’s not until everyone speaks up and is heard that change will indeed happen everywhere.

But I’m not here to get all ‘political’. I’m here to celebrate being a vibrant, fun, stylin’ Gay man living my life to the fullest. Part of living life to it’s fullest is meeting other like minded men, guys with brains, personalities and bodies to match! Sure I like to look at hot, topless men- and that will definitely be something you’ll be able to see a lot of here on Guy Spy. But we are also going to feature all of the best Gay content from around globe. Think of this as your new one stop shop for the best of fashion, technology, pop culture, food, travel, gaming, sports, politics, social media, dating and relationships.

In fact, if you currently consider yourself an expert in any of these fields or if you’re the ‘guy’ that all your friends come to for advice about clothes, or hair and skin care products or computer questions or any of the above, then we want to hear from YOU! Simply email me here at Morris@GuySpy.com and tell me about yourself and send some links to your blog or pieces that you’ve published…who knows, you might become on of our next famous GUYD’s!
