368What’s the Buzz? Fazenda Cachaca (aka Brazilian rum). This is no ordinary rum drink; Brazilian sugar cane is vastly different from other origins. The “kuh-SHAH-suh” rum is clean, elegant, and nutty.

While it’s great for any rum drink, the classic is a Mediterrean Strawberry-Basil Caipirinha Cocktail, with lime and simple syrup, plus the added flavor of strawberries, grapes, and herbs. We found a classic recipe here.

It’s no secret that rum drinks are one of summer’s most popular. So when you pour tonight, pour with class. And blame the buzz on Rio.

Want a Taste? Vino-Versity offers a sampling of wine every Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. A sampling of the week’s cocktail can be had Fridays, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

For more information, email TheDean@vinoversity.com. Vino-Versity is located at 1657 First Avenue, at 86 Street, New York City.
