Faded pictures of famous favourites from the company that paved the way future pornographic exploits and sexy situations. Beefcake is the brand that started it all and we are here to bring you back to your roots and the birthplace of boys in birthday suits. So forget high gloss and extreme close ups and relish the days of loincloths and lovely boys flexing to show their best. After all, the human body is art as well as wonderful. Enjoy the good old days boys!
Arax Studio took these photographs of André Drapp, who won the titles Mr. France and Le Plus Bel Athlete de France in 1947.
As you can read in the article from the October, 1947 issue of Health & Strength magazine, André had been entering bodybuilding contests since the late 1930's before he reached the top.
Like many bodybuilders in the 1950's, he became a very popular wrestler and entertained audiences well into the 1960's.
David Martin took these outstanding photographs of Bill Derrick, who won the title Mr Fort Worth in 1952.
A reader recognized the location of the outdoors image as the Pulgas Water Temple near the Crystal Springs Reservoir in a hiking area south of San Francisco, California.
The Western Photography Guild took these nice images of Dale Gilbert, who won the titles Mr. Iowa, Mr. Mid-West, Iowa Middleweight Lifting Champion and Mid-West Middleweight Lifting Champion in 1956 and Mr. South West in 1957.
When you jump to this post on the blog, you will see what I think is one of the best photographs taken by Don Whitman of the Western Photography Guild.
