    I especially like this Strength and Health cover, as it is one of the few color images I have of this massive man.

  • André Drapp Photographed by Arax Studio

    Arax Studio took these photographs of André Drapp, who won the titles Mr. France and Le Plus Bel Athlete de France in 1947.

    As you can read in the article from the October, 1947 issue of Health & Strength magazine, André had been entering bodybuilding contests since the late 1930's before he reached the top.

    Like many bodybuilders in the 1950's, he became a very popular wrestler and entertained audiences well into the 1960's.

  • Don Fuller and Kip Behar

    I nearly fell out of my chair when I came across these exquisite photographs from the 1950's of Don Fuller posing outdoors with Kip Behar.

    I especially like the image of Don pointing at something to the left, both men squinting into the sun.

    I do not know who took these photographs.

    David Martin took these outstanding photographs of Bill Derrick, who won the title Mr Fort Worth in 1952.

    A reader recognized the location of the outdoors image as the Pulgas Water Temple near the Crystal Springs Reservoir in a hiking area south of San Francisco, California.

    The Western Photography Guild took these nice images of Dale Gilbert, who won the titles Mr. Iowa, Mr. Mid-West, Iowa Middleweight Lifting Champion and Mid-West Middleweight Lifting Champion in 1956 and Mr. South West in 1957.
