The Pride is the hottest gay play to hit London for years, and we’ve got a pair of VIP tickets to give away! It’s had fantastic reviews across the board – here’s what we said about it at GuySpy.
Set in the 1950s and 2013, The Pride is a tale of gay love in different eras. It’s some of the most powerful, warm and gripping theatre I’ve see in recent years. I empathised and could relate to the troubles, hopes and dreams of all the characters, at different stages of my life as a gay man, and I’m sure you will too.
Philip, Oliver and Sylvia exist in a complex love triangle which spans over half a century. 1958 Philip is in love with Oliver, but married to Sylvia. 2013 Oliver is addicted to sex with strangers. Sylvia loves them both.
Scenes in The Pride range from touching and hilarious to shocking and disturbing. You’ll be taken on a journey not only through time, but through the changing attitudes, norms and ideals relating to sexuality, fidelity and identity. The cast is faultless, including a series of cameos from Mathew Horne – including a Nazi rent boy!
