This news is so not fab.

Covering and defining gay nightlife and culture in Toronto since its Pride weekend premiere issue in 1994, Fab is folding after 19 years.

“The realities of the print publication world have finally taken their toll on our free glossy,” blogs Phil Villeneuve, who became editor of Fab last May. “Pink Triangle Press has had to make some difficult decisions over the years, including closing The Body Politic back in the day. Today, the press simply can’t afford to keep the magazine running. Despite the contributors, content and the amazing people that fill its pages, it’s time to say farewell.”

Villeneuve reminds readers that the popular magazine has covered “everything from politics, to social issues, to underwear trends, to fascinating new lube flavours. It’s overseen the evolution of Toronto gay men and covered every type of party, play and festival.”

The final issue of Fab will be released Apr. 24 and available through May 7. Remember happier, hairier times below with the viral behind-the-scenes video for their recent “Beards” issue.
