January in the States is often considered a black and white month, as the snow and rain and sleet turn everything into several shades of gray. What smarter way, then, to celebrate the harsh winter than with GuySpy’s Man for January, Stuart Reardon, in a Rick Day photo shoot that captures the look of winter with the sizzle of a summer’s day.

Stuart, 32, is one of the hottest Rugby players in the world, in more ways than one, and he’s not so much gay-friendly as he is gay-who-gives-a-fuck, people are people.

“It doesn’t matter at all,” he says, on whether or not, given his homoerotic photo shoots, people think he’s gay. “It’s not for me to give advice,” he says, on when or if fellow sports figures should come out of the closet. “It’s up to the individual to do what’s right for them, at that time in their life.”

And on his girlfriend Emma’s reaction to his gay audience, he says, “She’s supportive in anything I do, and is proud I have fans, gay or straight. She’s a very cool girl, she’s a keeper.”

Stuart’s showing a lot of tat in these photos, and like so many other inked men, every picture does tell a story. “My tattoo reminds me of the tough time I had coming back from an Achilles reconstruction and how I came through it,” he says. “You only really appreciate the highs when you’ve been through the lows.”

Speaking of highs, Stuart’s at the top of his game in these photos, and admits it’s not as simple as waking up to strike a pose. “The night before a photo shoot takes more preparation than a game,” he says, “because you have to look your best for the shoot. Rugby is a team sport and preparation begins from pre-season onward.”

And, as you can see, there’s a lot of surfing involved, working out, even a cold—or hot—shower at the end. While he admits to being a “beginner surfer,” the water falling is an image that strikes a more eternal reaction.

“There is just something about a sexy body and water that gets us all going, women and men.”

“I always critique my body,” adds Stuart, when asked to expand on the dynamics of putting it all together for the camera. “It’s human nature to pick at your own faults. Everybody does it; I’m no different.”

We might argue that last point, but we’re most interested in knowing the history of those little white shorts that are somehow capable of keeping big things intact.

“I didn’t keep them,” he laughs. “Who knows where those shorts are today. It’s a mystery.”

And all of us investigators are off and running…

Stuart is one sexy fella. There’s quite a few hunks in Rugby League. Just wish more of them would pose for pictures like this.

He would be mildly interesting, but that tattoo just completely ruins the picture. When are guys going to wise up and not despoil their natural beauty? You can put on a temporary and take it off, but you can’t remove dye. It limits your whole future.
